My wife had a best friend from Bangor who would spend summers with her grandparents in Quincy, MA (where my wife grew up) back in the 70's. My wife would take a bus from Boston to Bangor during Christmas Break to visit her.

Boone is a great alternative to Johnson City. Close to Asheville, and nice people. Very scenic and business friendly. Reminds me of a smaller more upscale Gatlinburg.

Scottsdale, AZ.

“Fresno? FresYES!†read the t-shirt of a girl on my floor of the dorm. She was from Fresno of course. City with a dumpy reputation which seems to have been putting itself together, slowly but surely.

Jacksonville, FL (my home for the night)

Underrated. A metro that will be heard from more in the 2020's, IMO. Like the St. John's River downtown. Very nice people.

La Crosse, WI

Rust area, suburban in character. Close to one of my favorite cities in the midwest.
