Norwich, CT?

Plain Jane suburb of Milwaukee. Rust area and not much going on.

Mt. Juliet, TN

Mobile, Alabama is on my bucket list of cities to visit! From what I gather, it was the original U.S. location of Mardi Gras, and it's one of the few Alabama cities that is on the coast. Looks lovely, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

Next: Portland, Maine

Mobile, AL
Probably the most charming of Alabama's four major cities (in population order IIRC: Birmingham, Mobile, Montgomery, Huntsville). Also the state's only seaport.

Lancaster, Pa.

You skipped my post Market.

Lancaster, PA seems nice. Located between Harrisburg, Valley Forge, Philadelphia, Hershey Park and Gettysburg seems ideal to me. 2hr drive to New York City, Washington DC, and Baltimore, and Atlantic City, NJ a little further away, it's in a prime location!

Next: Portland, Maine

Portland--got quite a nice old town. Liberal and trendy, but COLD!!! Basically the American version of Halifax, NS.

Tyson's Corner, Virginia

Tyson's Corner - IIRC is a low density suburb of DC and has a lot of "live! work! play!" type new construction towers/"lifestyle centers" going up separated by some wide ass boulevards. Overall not a bad place to live but probably not worth the price.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Santa Fe, New Mexico
Old, very historic pueblo Southwest town with a lot of art and great Mexican/New Mexican cuisine. Still, it's too small, isolated, and arid for my taste.

And about Tysons Corner--eh, it's better than you make it out. It may be overpriced, but it has phenomenal transit (four DC metro stations, soon to have a direct connection with Dulles Airport!), only 20 minutes from Downtown Arlington, is getting a lot denser (lots of high rise condos), is right next to a lot of white collar jobs, and actually pretty walkable. Very safe and clean. My kind of place--until I have kids and want a big suburban house and an SUV.

Hamilton, Ontario

If Toronto was Seattle, than Hamilton would be Tacoma. That was my impression 25 years ago.

Tacoma, WA
