Well, I'm going to go again, since I got skipped.

Richmond: not bad, not nice, either. Summers are too hot, winters are in that grey zone between truly cold and somewhat mild... the skyline is stumpy and ruined by elevated freeways, crime isn't so hot, and much of the urban dwellings are dominated by row houses.

So, here we go again:

Petaluma, CA.

Famously homosexual - and no, I'm not taking a swipe at anyone's personal life; Provincetown is just a well known gay destination, and has been for a generation. Otherwise, great beaches, nice tower, and the former terminal of the Old Colony Railroad Cape Branch.

San Luis Obispo, CA

When I think Berkeley, I obviously think of the Golden Bears... and, as an outsider, the onerous and insidious restrictions that the college has been gradually placing on freedom of speech on campus (it is just reprehensible). Other descriptive terms that come to mind are: expensive, nice, white bred, hilly.

Redding, CA.
