Miami, over the last 3 years many new buildings and the front of the skyline has changed dramatically and is continuing to change. Look at a picture from 2005 to 2009 cant even tell it is the same city in some parts.

Seattle, Bellevue and Chicago probably will continue to build more than others through the recession.

Believe it or not Devon Energy in Oklahoma City is building a new sky scraper some 60 stories tall. It will be taller than any building in Oklahoma and will be taller than all the sky scrapers in Dallas. There will be some neat before and after photos taken there because the skyline there right now is tiny. Construction has already started and is expected to complete in 2012.

Charlotte in the past 3 years has changed alot. The VUE and the Duke Energy Center make a dramatic change in the skyline the same way the Hearst Tower did in 2000. The 1 Bank of America building is also pretty neat too. I think outside of Charlotte, this would be the tallest building in NC and SC, I find that most interesting.

However, in the next three years I don't see anything dramatic happening to the skyline. I guess this is a good thing, it will give us time to catch up with what we have.

Charlotte's skyline has indeed changed a lot over the past three years. I think it's amazing that we still have cranes dotting our skyline after all we've been through and will at least have two for the next several months for UNCC's building and Hotel Sierra next to the arena. I also think that most of our urban development in the foreseeable future will be in the form of lowrises and midrises which isn't a bad thing at all, but it would be nice to be surprised.

I think I'd rather see the initial plan come to fruition, but I'd take 210 Trade as a consolation prize.

Trump Charlotte

I definitely agree. But from what I hear that plan is definitely over.

Dubai, Miami, and... Charlotte? Come on. I know Charlotte is going through a construction boom but comparing it to Dubai and Miami is a bit of a stretch.

I'm somewhat surprised Austin hasn't been mentioned that much. It's had three different tallest skyscrapers over the past three years. Hears a few links for the Austin skyline.

2007:

2009 A few of these buildings on some of these links are still under construction:
