States in the Bos-Wash Corridor-MA, NH, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA: 2,772,000 Millionaire Households, right after the UK on an area less than the size of Texas and comparable in size to California. That is some serious wealth.

That's sort of flawed because BosWash is not entire states but rather certain urban areas. For example BosWash does not include the entire states of New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Just parts. Pittsburgh and Richmond, VA for example are not part of BosWash. Maybe if they come out with a Metro Area ranking we could add up BosWash more accurately.

In fact my preference would be a Metro Area ranking but they don't have one.

%'s are by annual increases, although in stint times of the recession there were loses it recooperated and began growing again last year for all cities across the board. 2008 and 2009 were years of loses for all the aforementioned cities but 2010 was surplus and 2011 will definitely presume in the same order as 2010 onwards.

1. NYC– 667,200 +18.7%
2. LA– 235,800 +13.3%
3. Chicago– 198,100 +15.1%
4. DC– 152,400 +19.3%
5. SF/Oak– 138,300 +14.5%
6. Philadelphia– 104,100 +20.1%
7. Boston– 102,300 + 14.4%
8. Detroit– 89,100 +12.1%
9. Houston- 88,200 +28.9%
10. San Jose- 86,500 +24.5%

So 3% of the USA are millionaires. (divide millionaires by population)

Japan- 4%

Germany-4%

Canada-5%

Per Capita for developed countries, they are basically even with everyone else. Obviously if you have 300+ million people and you are a developed country you are going to have a lot of millionaire households. Canada actually has more per capita.

I agree, look at the list I just posted for metros to yours for states. NYS for example has 778K millionaire households and 667K of them are in NYC metro but also includes millionaires from CT and NJ in NYC mero. For example look at Boston and Massachusetts and New Hampshire, only 1/4 are in metro Boston and remainder elsewhere in the states that make up Boston MSA

BTW looking at millionaires per region is meaningless in the long term, a millionaire in Boston has no business to be interconnected with one in Baltimore. Same goes for LA and SF, Dallas and Houston, etc metros are a better indicator

Of course your info and mine are of two separate years 2010 and 2011, but there cant be that drastic of a difference from one good year to another IMO
