Are you serious? New to the U.S.? I would have to say that little town of NYC is a pretty MAJOR waterfront town. See also Boston, LA, Chicago, Miami, San Fran, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, ect.

How do you define:

1) Waterfront city (just the ocean, or do lakes, rivers, ponds, ect. count?) ?

2) MAJOR (MAJOR as in the size of the city, or MAJOR as in the size of the water, or MAJOR as in the impact of the city, ect.)?

Throw us a frickin' bone here!

Yep, refine your definitions too, or you'll end up with this level of hair-splitting insanity:

I would include oceans, lakes, and large rivers like mississippi or ohio. I mean major in all three aspects of your major. But mostly impact of the city.

I would also then add Cincinatti, Pittsburgh, Nawlins, St. Louis, and Baltimore. Not sure if Detroit still fits the MAJOR category, but what the heck. Detroit too! (flame away, Michigan residents haha).

Oh yeah, that thread brings back some memories...

Did we ever decide whether Dallas could be considered a waterfront city because of the Trinity River?
