The 2009 Fortune 500 list was released this past April. I'm always interested in seeing how metro areas stack up. Here are the totals for a few metropolitan areas. Feel free to add your metro area or make corrections as I may have made a few mistakes.

Once I actually counted the F500s for the NY CSA. There were over 100. LOL
All of Maryland's F500 companies are located in the Metro Area, while Viriginia has more soread throughout the state. MD is actually one of the worst states for business because of its very high corp. tax rates, that and it's unique position of bordering a state with very low business taxes.
