You should see the monster Toronto is poised to become in the next couple of years.

Well - i'd say it is well on its way right now.

Vertigo-inducing pictures taken by 'rooftopper' who wants to take photography to new heights | Mail Online

Many of those buildings in the 'future' links are actually under construction now.

btw enough respect for the skyline of Philly - after NYC, Chicago and T.O i'd give the nod for 4th in N.A

T.O actually has some pretty decent architectural cred - if you are going from 1960's and ahead..Before that some decent Victorian and Gothic representation - particularly in old T.O..but yeah prior to the sixties Philly ruled T.O...

+ 60's = I.M Pei, Stone, Van Der Rohe, Gehry, Rivell, Calavatra, Alsop and Libeskind top an impressive list... for those in the know of course!

What does it matter?

All those Toronto projects are 4-5 years away and the grand majority of them save a few are either underway or ready to start this year.

Even in the present, Toronto's skyline is far larger. Really, it wont make a difference, there's no city in North America other than New York with as much going on RIGHT NOW to it's skyline than Toronto. The city has 151 buildings that are either a skyscraper or a high-rise under construction right now, that's just slightly less than half of Philadelphia's total building count.
