Urban canyons happen when the buildings on either side of a street are taller than the street is wide. They add intrigue and beauty to the urban environment. They are found in most major cities in the US. Which city has the best, most dramatic urban canyons?

NYC, San Fran and Chicago have some very nice ones.

Probably SF because the jumbled grid creates some dead ends that really top it off. I think I've seen some shots of lower Manhattan like this, too.

I think New York and Chicago have the best without a doubt. I'll post some of Boston's better ones in a little bit.

Philadelphia has them all over; even in the neighborhoods.

I dont think "urban canyons" have to be limited to downtown areas.

Chicago, New York, even DC. I think Dallas is underrated in this department in downtown.
