Overall what city do you think is better for foodies? Which has the best variety in cuisine? The best restaurants? The most unique cuisine, and the most amount of culture in cuisine? Overall what city is a better culinary experience?

Philly in terms of variety, culture and famous foods that are native to the area. DC's food scene has definitely improved compared to what it was when I lived there in the 90's, but I think Philly overall is better on almost all levels.

Considering DC's rank as a major city and sheer size, DC is probably the biggest city in the country with the saddest dining scene. Philadelphia wins and it's not close.

I mean there's some diversity as you go further out, but is there even a single food that is associated with DC?

Philadelphia. Although I think DC's food scene has improved a lot from what it used to be. Philly's dining scene just seems to be diverse, authentic, and well-rounded.

Philadelphia. DC is no slouch but Philly is underrated as far as food goes.

Philly and DC know how to make a good pizza. Better than anything I've ever had in NYC.
