No disrespect to the other cities, but it's Atlanta by far. Not only do we have one of the highest concentrations of universities in America, but just look at the rankings from this year's US News & World Report:
ATL would be overall best but Houston has the best medical programs. Overall though: ATL> Hou> Dallas
Sorry, Houston may have more medical schools (I guess) but Atlanta has the CDC which is affiliated with Emory University. And the CDC supervises all medical schools across the country.

Indeed. But I think with the TMC, it gives Houston the overall advantage in terms of education in the medical field. But schools overall ATL takes the cake in the South.

Unless I'm mistaken.Almost all the schools in Houston that have Medical Programs are located at TMC.Not to mention others that are not even in Houston.Still impressive place but not so much if you consider that the main difference is that it is consolidated in one place. Not saying I know all the details, just my casual knowledge of the area.
Im basing my opinion that Atlanta may have more training throughout the metro area due to the fact that Georgia ranks 17th in the nation for percentage of "Board Certified Doctors in their Specialties".TX ranks 47th.
Atlanta has some good liberal arts colleges too.Not to mention engineering schools as well. Then you have numerous H.B.C.U.'s(the Atlanta University Center).
Atlanta is the most 7th "most educated city" in America.Georgia has a higher per capita income than Texas also.
