Right and for me I like diversity in nightlife. I like that in places like Chicago, NYC, LA, SF, etc that it's not only pubs and bars but also a ton of clubs and lounges. I personally am a pub and bar person but i also like to have options. I just felt Boston's nightlife was just not very diverse.

I can see this but I would put Miami ahead of LA.

Agreed, but not necessarily the order. I would take out DC for Montreal.

Agreed.

My favorite nightlife cities in North America are:

Atlanta
Chicago
Los Angeles
Mexico City
Montreal
New Orleans
New York
Philadelphia
San Francisco
Toronto

While Miami and Las Vegas are a lot of fun, they lack variety.

Sorry, but the original list sucks. Here's what it should be:
1. Miami/Ft. Lauderdale
2. New York City
3. Las Vegas
4. Toronto
5. New Orleans
6. Los Angeles
7. Chicago
8. Key West
9. Atlantic City
10. Washington DC

You mean to tell me LV and Miami don't have as much variety as at least half of those cities? I could see NY, LA, Mexico City, and maybe Chicago having more variety than Miami and LV, but the rest of them seem like they have there own little niche nightlife. SF is bars, Philly is bars and pubs, NO is bars, pubs, and street parties, ATL are clubs and lounges, Toronto clubs, pubs, and lounges, Montreal clubs, pubs, etc.
