No Mexico City?? Mexico City has more highrises than Chicago!

Mexico City is third in North America in number of highrises, after NYC and Toronto.

I would rank the top 10 as follows:

1. NYC
2. Toronto
3. Chicago or Mexico City
4. Mexico City or Chicago
5. Miami
6. Panama City
7. Los Angeles
8. Philadelphia
9. San Francisco
10. Boston or Houston

I can honestly say that the majority of the people here have not been to many of those cities. If they all had, just abt everyone would vote for NYC and Chicago for #1 and #2 because I really don't see how you cannot pick em. The rest is pretty much subjective...Toronto, SF, Philly, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Seattle, and Boston would be the next runners.

You really think Mexico City can take on Chicago? You are joking aren't you? It's not even about how many high-rises...cuz you see Toronto AND Mexico City both have more high-rises than Chicago, but a little analysis would make it clear why Chicago's skyline is so revered and so famous. You realize Chicago has nearly 100 buildings over 500 feet? 100! And four of them are over 1,100 feet! Chicago is an absolute behemoth that ONLY New York is the city that is capable (or more than capable) of having a better skyline.

Hardly joking. Have you even been to Mexico City? It has more highrises than Chicago, and FAR more highrises under construction.

Well then if it isn't about how many highrises, then what is it about?

Maybe I should pick Walla Walla, Washington over Hong Kong, becuase it has a nice church steeple? A ranking of best skyline certainly has to take number of highrises into account.

This is true, and why I ranked Mexico City and Chicago equally.

One has more highrises, and far more under construction, while the other has far more very tall highrises. One can make an argument for both.

Well now that is just silly. It's just your opinion.

What about Sao Paulo? Hong Kong? Shanghai? Tokyo? None of these cities can compare to Chicago?

Now if you are talking strictly North America, I would say you would have to be crazy to rank Chicago lower than fourth. It should be ranked somewhere between second and fourth, in competition with Toronto and Mexico City.
