I am always seeing people hating LA and prasing San Diego, and I am always seeing people say that San Diego is better than LA. *Well on what cause? *LA is like a million times better than San Diego and has like million more things better to do. *LA has the best suburbs, the best beaches, the best entertainment, the best architecthure, the best museums the best cultures and diversity and pretty much the best everything. *I am not going to make just BS comments about why San Diego can't compare to LA, but rather I am going to show you how LA is better.*
***Let's start with each cities suburbs. *San Diego has the most blandest and sterile suburbs ever. *They have no character or history or racial diversity or culture or significance. *Each suburb in San Diego is either filled with white people or mexicans with very little black populace or Asians communities or other diverse enclaves that you can find in every major city in the world. *Let's get real San Diego county demographics show that more white people live in the county than mexicans while mexicans are the secound largest followed by Asians and so on. *There are hardly areas in San Diego that have distintc cultures whithin there populace. *Southeast San Diego a place were lots of African Americans convene has been pretty much become allmost entirely Mexican. *Mexicans can be found mostly near the southern regions of San Diego: National City, Chula Vista, (large areas of Southeast San Diego which include Encanto, Emarld Hills, Skyline, etc), San yisidor, otay, Logan, mountain view, reedwood village, barrio logan, basically everything south and east of downtown. *These areas are not only are filled with large mexican populations, but they are also rundown and not really that clean. *These areas are naturally un-desirable and have poor infrastructure, there are some places within these areas that are avarage and nice but those are not many.

** * Now let's get into the Asian enclaves. *There's Kearny Mesa, Linda Vista, La jolla, Encinitas, etc. These places are, naturally clean and cookie cutter lacking character. *The only city that comes close to having a significant asian communities and populace with distinct asian retailing and business is Kearny Mesa which is not really impressive and is as dull as it can get with suburbs. *The only city that probally comes close to racial diversity in San diego is City Heights which is a somewhat urban area, but it's only urban on university Avenue. *City heights it's self has lost it's international appeal as more mexicans have been moving in the area, but the city has a wide varity of Ethiopian, vietamese, somalian, and Chinese stores. *City Heights is another somewant rundown city as well. *Most of the stores in city heights on university avenue are old and crumbly with parking lots filled with trash and the stores on the inside aren't that pretty either. *
**Now finally we come down to the white neighboorhoods: *La Mesa, El Cajon, La jolla, Oceanside, Poway, rancho benardo, Hillcrest, uptown, north park, all of north county, mission valley, spring valley, oak park, downtown, golden hill, San Carlos, college area, relondo village, mission beach, coranado, point Loma, pacific Beach, Lemon Grove, Normal Heights, Vista, Serra Mesa, etc. *These areas have large white population and are equally dull and lack character snd are just sleepy boring suburbs they are mostly upkept and have a few seedy areas. *The only cities in San Diego's suburbs that have some charm and character and a distinct amenities that make the city unique are, La Mesa, San Carlos, Point Loma, Coranado, Oceanside, Mission Beach/bay, La Jolla, pacific Beach, North Park, Hillcrest, City Heights, downtown, mission valley, imperial Beach, Kearny Mesa, serrento valley, Lemon Grove, El cajon, and that's it *everything else is just a average sterile suburb. *San Diego rich areas are not even that exclusive like La Jolla which is nice, but not really that upscale and lacks opulence like Beverly hills and hardly has any mansions and is not really that ritzy it's like a upper scale beach town. La jolla is the only rich area in San Diego that and the rancho area and fallbrook and Del Mar, but still not cohesivly connected and are spread out and bland.
Now let's compare LA's suburbs. *LA suburbs are the most diverse and distinct than anything in San Diego. *They have more character more amenities, they're better connected and each one is urban and has it's own city center and urban feel. *Yes LA has more bad areas and has more blight than San Diego's bad areas, but that is because it's a bigger city and it's gritty like every other major world city, just to name a few: Chicago, and New York city, etc, but those areas in LA at least have character. *LA has been noted as the most diverse metropolitan area in the country. *
** * Now let's talk about the burbs. *Well start with the Mexican areas and black communities. *East LA, Boyle Heights, etc some of these areas are nice like pico riviera *some are not like Boyle hieghts, pico union, etc. Yes there is blight in these areas, but each of these areas have distinct quallities that make them unique and they also have lots of diffrent native Mexican races like salvadorian and guatemalans and oaxacans and other Hispanic and Latino races. *Most of these areas with the mexicans have clean up a bit and are getting better. *Just recently a new trolley line has been added to the area and will be opening soon. *East LA has Whittier blvd which is like it's downtown area and it's a very intresting and monumental boulevard. *Boyle heights is urban and that gives the area some character as well.*
** * *Let's talk about the African American areas now. *Most of the black communites have been taken over by mexicans, but those areas are still iconic for being black cultured areas and having large areas of black people. *Watts, south LA, Compton, Baldwin hills, etc. *South LA is just rundown and horrible. *North into Jefferson next to USC is allright though and is not as rundown as the sounthern regions of South LA. *Watts has the watts tower which is a culture attraction and makes watts distinctive. *Than there's Compton, most of it is alright just normal looking not really bad and other parts are bad and crappy and urban blight every where. *Than we have the nice black areas like Baldwin hills and west Adams, etc some really nice houses are in these areas and that's a plus for distinction. *
** * The valley areas have there own character and have there own feel and city center too and are mostly filled with white people and some Russians and Armenians. *The San Fernando valley has: North Hollywood, Burbank, Van Nuyes, etc. *North Hollywood is Turing into a urban area and a center area for the valley with a arts district and a downtown area and a subway line and transit hub. *Burbank is the entertainment Capitol with all kinds of media outlets and TV studios and a good downtown area as well, and Van Nuyes is a cool area as well with nice shopping and retail stores. *Than there's the San Gabriel valley which which has a lot of Asians. *It has: Pasadena, Glendale, and Whittier. *Pasadena by far is the most beautifull suburb in LA and is home to high ranking universities and the rose bowl a very iconic parade and a cool city hall and downtown area. *Glendale has it's own skyline and downtown area and a awesome mall as well as a large Russian community. *Whittier has a nice old town style feel with some good Burmese food. *
** * Now let's take it to the west side were there mostly hipsters and white people and yuppies and affluent middle class people. *By far Los Angeles has more rich areas than San diego and they're more upscale and exclusive. *There's Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, Westwood, Brentwood, Malibu, palos verdes. etc very nice areas lots of manshions filled with opulence*and upscale shopping. *There's also the beach communites that blow SD's beaches out of the water. *Santa Monica, Malibu, Redondo Beach, Venice Beach, Marina Del Ray, Playa Del Rey, Long Beach, San Pedro, Manhattan Beach . *Each of those cities are very unique. *Most of LA's beaches have been noted on a international scale and has been visited by all kinds of people from around the world. *Santa Monica is the number one Beach city with the 3rd street promenade and the Santa Monica pier and a nice skyline. *Venice is 2nd with it's Venice canals that look like Italy's almost and it's trippn boradwalk with crazy preformers and the famous muscle beach and bike paths. *Redondo beach is 3rd and has a downtown area and nice boardwalk arcade area and submarine rides and a fish market. *than there's Manhattan Beach which is equaly famous and you can catch a international volley ball game there. *Let's not forget Malibu which knocks La Jolla dead. *Long Beach has it's own skyline that will eventually surpass San Diego's pretty soon and a cool water front area. *San Pedro is coming along and there's more to come, the recent antique trolley line from LA's past (pacific electric) has been added giving San Pedro distinction status and character and the new foutain show that are like the balageio at las Vegas has made San Pedro even cooler. *There's so many other beach areas I still didn't touch yet and easliy max out anything San Diego has. **
Anyway LA can match anything San Diego has. *SD has coranado, LA has Catalina. *SD has La Jolla, LA has Malibu and redondo beach. *SD has seaport village LA has Marina Del Ray. *SD has Oceanside LA has San Pedro. *SD has Del Mar LA has ingelwood. *SD has mission beach LA has Santa Monica. *SD has pacific beach LA has Venice Beach. *SD has point loma LA has Manhatann beach. *SD has mission valley LA has San Fernando valley which is far more superior. *SD has hillcrest, LA got west hollywood. *SD has balboa park LA has Griffith park and the Getty and exposition park. *SD has serrento valley LA has Century city. *SD has north park LA has koreatown. *SD has UCSD and USD, LA has UCLA, USC, and Poly Tech which all rank higher than San Diego's colleges. *SD has the lamest malls while LA has the Grove, and American at market, and the Beverly Center,etc. *LA can match anything in San Diego, but a million times better. *SD has mid rise buildings LA has skyscrapers. *SD has there laughable gay pride parade and west Hollywood has the biggest and best gay pride parades and Holloween celebrations. *SD has the poinsettia bowl LA has the Rose Bowl. *SD has palamar observatory LA has Griffith observatory. *SD has the Gas Lamp, LA has Hollywood Blvd. *SD has Julian Mts. LA has Big Bear Mts. *SD has old town, LA has olvera St. *SD has Seaworld LA has Raging waters and soak city. *SD has Legoland LA has Disney Land. *SD has that morman temple in La Jolla, LA has the Morman temple in Westwood and the scientlogy temple in Hollywood. *SD has the birch aquarium, LA has the long beach aquarium. * LA has more landmarks and monuments. *LA has more pefroming arts centers. *LA has a very famous symphony and orchestra and is one of the best in the world. *SD has sports arena, LA has the staples center. *SD has the cricket ampitheater LA has the Hollywood bowl. *SD has the civic center downtown, LA has LA Live. *SD has the spreckles theater, LA has the Pantages and Orpheum theater. *LA is on national weather maps SD isn't. *LA is the secound largest city in America SD is the 9 th and fell behind Dallas. *LA has a subway SD doesn't. *LA has a larger trolley and bus system, you get shot on SD's trolleys. *SD has the padres who suck, LA has the Dodgers who allmost beat the phillies in the play off's last year. *SD has Horton plaza, LA has Macys Plaza. *SD has little Italy, LA has Chinatown, Koreantown, little Tokyo, little Ethiopia, Filipinotown, etc. *LA has a soccer team (LA Galaxy) and a Hockey team (LA Kings). *LA has million of TV show produced and about LA. *LA has tons of movie made and about LA. *LA Is like a million times better than SD on all comparisons not at all can SD stump LA in any department.
Yeah San Diego has LA pegged in some ways like petco park and the zoo and by having a NFL team and lower crime, cleaner air being smaller. *Though LA is no slouch and is soon going to get a NFL team, it's in the works. *Dodgers stadium is going to get remodeled *and renovated and theres going to be shops and stores and more trees installed into the area and it will easliy be a better stadium again. *Also there are new attractions being added to LA's zoo and LA is reducing crime and pollution which is not even that bad anymore. * *
** * LA is just more dynamic and more sophisticated than San Diego and by far more superior and yet people still pick SD not knowing what there missing. *LA must of ruined it's rep bad. *Hopefully it's Turing around now which I think is and LA is slowy coming back into the spot light. * * *
