Alaska--great hunting and fishing, beautiful country

North Carolina--The AT--hiked most of it through there--beautiful country.

Kansas--beautiful fields of tall sunflowers with their faces all turned toward the sun.

Colorado--beautiful 14,000 foot peaks and the challenge of climbing them all.

Missouri--Sikeston. (I know, weird.) In college in Tennessee, Coors beer wasn't sold east of the Mississippi and there was quite a market for it at school. On many Friday afternoons, we'd run to Sikeston (a friend knew someone there who owned a store and would sell to us underage there--we were legal in TN, back when drinking age was 18). We'd fill the trunk and rear seat full of cases of beer, run it back to school and sell it very quickly at inflated prices. It didn't occur to me until later that it was illegal. Heck, we thought it was just being industrious. We saw a need and filled it and made a nice profit.

Iowa--Corn. And gay marriage. Think there's a connection somehow?

Indiana--flat.

New Jersey--a schizophrenic state. Nice rural lower half--horrible wastelands of Newark.

Connecticut--Biff and Muffy.

Nevada--Great empty places, space. Oh, yeah, I understand there's a little gambling there...
