Charleston and Savannah have the beauty, better weather, and proximity to great beaches. New Orleans has everything else.

New Orleans has nice weather. October-April have the best, but May-September is really the same in all three places.

Charleston and Savannah both have much of what NOLA does, but NOLA has more of it or better/more notable versions (food, educational institutions, festivals, port, etc.).

Not really. New Orleans' summers are considerably hotter and more humid.

Temperature wise the summer highs look pretty close, all averaging within a degree or two of each other but New Orleans does tend to be a little more humid.

Also, New Orleans definitely has plenty of beauty.

I can imagine if the terrain was different New Orleans having a New Orleans Beach what Miami Beach is to Miami lined with waterfront highrise condos. I think the city would be much larger in population.

Yes, but not to the extent that Charleston and Savannah have it, in my opinion.

In terms of things like architecture, streetscapes, and historic neighborhoods I would say that it does have plenty of beauty to at least compare to them. But in terms of natural scenery, then no, especially with Charleston's waterfront location.

If it weren't for corruption, politics, and the heat-related diseases of the 19th century, New Orleans would be one of the countries largest cities.
