Tudors are ugly? Damn, even the LIRR station there is very unique.

I could post many more, my point, it's easy to post great pics of many cities (espeacially ones up north). But to someone who's spent any great length of time in Chicago and NYC, they know Chicago wins. Just cause NYC has more buildings, doesn't mean they're better! "Quality" over "quanity" is what were're talking about!
NYC has quantity and quality, I find myself intrigued by so many buildings (low-rise & high-rise). It never ceases to amaze me and there's so many places in NYC I haven't been.

And yet Kanye moved to New York... I wonder how he copes with the lower standard of living and lack of toilet paper there

I mean you can easily point out absurdity of this kind of posts: if it is so bad how come it is so great and attracts so many people?

PS. It's not only Manhattan, most of New York real estate, including Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island is more expensive than anything in Chicago. Why is it so if it is so substandard?

So have you ever lived in or around Austin?
No I've never lived there. I spent a great deal of time there working in the 90's. Roughly a week a month for about 7 years, give or take.

Wow. That sounds like an exhausting amount of traveling! Austin is one of my favorite cities in the world so I'm glad you got to enjoy it.

But for everyone else.... no. For me, certainly not. Give me New York!

Goodnight.
I really don't understand your instance to hate on Chicago. Every other New Yorker I've talked loves Chicago. Really, anyone I know that has visited Chicago loves the town whether their from New York, Texas, California, or wherever. Really, It's one of the most popular cities in the country and it is not uncommon for people to prefer Chicago over New York. They're both great cities. I don't see the need to bash either one.

Asheville. Cool, vibrant and eclectic, mountains, rivers, and surrounded a large conservative population. I dont know of anywhere else that has this.

New Orleans really stands out to me. Anyone who has ever gone on any of the historic tours there probably knows what I'm talking about.

Another less-known one is the historic sections of Galveston Island, TX.

I would say that none of the cities in Texas are unique. they all seem bland to me, they're just cities that offer the same amenities as any other average city.
