I'm so torn... I don't think I can vote. Climate is a big reason, as long as I remain in the US, that I choose to remain in the Pacific Northwest--it's mild!
I guess I would have to go with Yuma on this one.
If I'm going to be dealing with average highs in the 100s for months or average highs in the teens for months, I'd want to at least be somewhere interesting like Brazil or Canada/Northern Europe, respectively.
I think I can handle the heat better than the extreme (this being key) cold. Dealing with extreme cold means snow and ice. You don't have to shovel sunshine... Not that I'd ever want to live in Yuma. Yikes. Actually, thinking about that, I changed my mind. I'd pick International Falls for SURE. I would put up with the bad climate to live somewhere better than Yuma...
Yuma is certainly not my favorite place, but if forced to move, I'd take it any day over International Falls. At least in Yuma, you're only 2.5 hours from San Diego, 3.5 hours from Phoenix, and 4.5 hours from LA, but in International Falls, you're still at least 6 hours from Minneapolis. In addition, I'd take the 107 degree average in July over International Falls' 14 degree average in January.
