Yeah, but would you rather be drinking with some mid-west yokels sipping on Coors, or hanging out at a multi-level club with sophisticated people?

Both sounds pretty fun, and I can do both in Chicago. There are plenty of dives and plenty of multi-level clubs here.

And the "Yokels" prefer PBR or Old Style, not Coors.

I think LA would be more exciting w/ celebrities & pro athletes [wild nightlife w/ pool parties where the women go topless].

So, if you're drinking until 5 AM, are you able to walk?

So? Some people hold their alcohol well.

Chicago. MUCH better house music scene. Plus you dont have to risk drunk driving there. Clubs and bars are grouped closer together so club/bar hopping is easier. LA is good if you like bottle service, hip-hop, and driving miles (and possibly drunk), to go out.

for a single night out... i'd go with l.a.... same thing for vegas/miami... for consistent night life i'd go with chicago
there aren't many "yokels" in chicago...people in chicago generally have a much more urban mindset than l.a. ...
unless you are going to tourist places, then it might seem yokely? i.e. if you are hanging and partying at the navy pier lol

One thing I noticed after I got use to Chicago's scene and then traveled to LA a few times was how Chicago tends to be a little more "convenient".

I like how I can normally just hop a train or walk to the bars in Chicago, and then easily walk to many other bars within a few blocks, then easily cab or train it home even if it's 4am.

LA was fun, but it seemed to take more time driving around between places if I wasn't just commiting to one place for a night.

Otherwise I would say LA had an edge on the club scene, and Chicago has an edge on the bar and pub scene. It's more relaxed in Chicago. That's definitely my type of scene, hence why I'm more happy here.

To each their own though Obviously LA does clubs very well.
