Hawaii is more overall beautiful, with it's dramatic scenery not to mention the climate is a bit more pleasant than here in Miami.

However, it's too isolated for my tastes, every other body of land not considered an island is about 3-4 hour plane ride away. So in this case I will take my Miami and do an 1-2 hour flight to Costa Rica if I ever want Hawaii type scenery.

We wish it was only a 3-4 plane ride to somewhere other than an island. Try 5 hours to the US West Coast. The longest overwater flight in the world is from the West Coast to Hawaii.

There's no denying Hawaii's dramatic and simply STUNNING beauty.
I remember when I was there I thought "there is a god"

however like others said, I wouldn't want to live there because of it's isolation and because of how expensive it is, but again. there's no doubt hawaii's beauty and scenery literally shiiit on Fl. Sorry Florida lol... jk im actually not. It's just true.

I would have thought Japan to Hawaii would have been a bit longer? I think its around 7 hours. Not sure if thats discounted from going over who-knows-what islands on the way though.

Lots of islands on the way to Japan to land like Midway which is a diversion airport. Lots of islands on the way to Australia also.

By longest overwater flight I meant there isn't anywhere to land except the ocean for the greatest distance.

The jet age began in Hawaii in 1959.

So what are you saying? That jets are just as fast back then as they are today? Your the expert on aviation, i wouldn't argue with you. Do you know how long it took to fly from the west coast to hawaii in past decades? It would be interesting information.
