You forgot 1, *the city is being completely rebuilt and no other city comes close to the building of office parks and cookie cutter urban projects* - MDallstar
Well one thing that isn't a misconception is that jealous of D.C. runs deep in people in other cities. You may be first on the list.
It's all flat and red dirt - That's OKC. Tulsa has rolling hills and large wooded areas.
It's full of Indians and rednecks - There are some of Native Americans however, there are few people who have their family heritage in a single tribe and without any other nationalities. Most of the rednecks live outside of town.
It's small - Tulsa has nearly 400k in population itself and 960k in the MSA. Broken Arrow, the biggest suburb, is over 100k by itself.
It gets hit by tornados - Tulsa proper does not get hit as often as other parts of the state. The suburbs have had more storms as they have grown in more flatter areas.
It's second in energy to OKC - Tulsa competed with Houston to be the oil capitol of the world until the 1960's. The large oil field (Glenn Pool) is just 15 miles from town and when it was discovered, Tulsa took over as oil capitol from Cleveland, OH. All the majors had large offices or HQ's here until the mid 1960's. Tulsa is still a leader in energy equipment manufacturing (namely heat exchangers) and assembly. OKC's energy industry wasn't much until Devon and Chesapeake became names. Continental Resources is a recent import from Enid, OK.
