cityboi,

There's nothing wrong with someone posting their favorable opinions about locations other than Virginia Beach. Do you work for the Virginia Beach Visitors Bureau? I'm beginning to wonder.... on the other hand, they would undoubtedly want their representatives to be a little more hospitable in a public forum. Still, I like your enthusiasm for your area! (Although a one week business trip to meetings at the Tides Inn turned me off on the area so much I'd never put it on a list of potential places to live!)

I know there's nothing wrong with it.. but in the beginning of the thread.. noland said "where's Hampton Roads.. Tampa Bay all day.." and he clearly didn't/doesn't know what he was talking about.

Tampa has at least 3 pro sports team to the Hampton area none, the Downtown area skyline quite impressive for its size vs.Hampton-Norfolk what ever you want to call it impressive but small for population size.

Virginia Beach is nice, but the white sand beach and beautiful clear waters of the Gulf give Clearwater and St.Pete an advantage along with the wider variety of Palm trees ,plus Tampa Bay area is a more popular place by far and I mean by far for the fact that people visit and retire here..

So to answer your question on the other forum I will rank it a 6 because even though it has some plusses their lacking in identity ,it is a schizophrenic- like area. I don't know this area by Hampton Road but say Norfolk and a light comes on what area it is that we are talking of concern.

A few reasons why I like living in the Tampa Bay area, and why I would pick it over Virginia

More impressive skyline's...
(Tampa)

(St Pete)

Water Quality...

Sugary white sand beaches...

Pro sports teams

Although I'd rather live in Hampton Roads, I will have to say that the water and sand along the Suncoast is hard to beat. My only other favorite beaches are along the Panhandle in Florida. Sorry VA Beach.
