care to clarify??? There is far better skiing you can get to in a 2-3 hours around Atlanta or Charlotte than Chicago, and better outdoor activities in all 3 of those. Chicago isn't really known for it's nature excursions, while all 3 of the others are. The job market is not better in Chicago either, Austin and the other Texas cities are better.

Austin is below 6% and never went below 7% during the recession, Chicago is above 10% still and got up to 13% just 2 years ago.

Chicago is the better city out of all of those (major global city, great public transit, better cultural institutions, best food scene, etc.) but not for those reasons...

Weather and the lack of "nature, scenery" (i.e. location) around Chicago are probably it's weakest points compared to other metros.

You've obviously never been to any of the three.

Austin has some country but it's mostly a liberal city. Try Nashville.

Atlanta, Charlotte & Austin all have their country parts, but not enough to be classified as "country". I do agree with Nashville, but that's to be expected because it's in Tennessee.

I seriously doubt you've ever been near any of them, so where does such in-depth knowledge of these places come from?

ATLANTA . isn't as walkable in the center as Charlotte LOL. there is a larger urban foot print and more train stations in the center than Charlotte.

Isn't that ironic u say Atlanta's Charlotte and Austin are country but yet there are a lot of New yorkers who dress country/ bama. That's backwards. Don't say it aint true.
