Both are great! Where would you prefer to live?

Tough one. I have to go with New Orleans though.
Both have Caribbean culture/history (although Miami has more of a Latin American feel with a lot of Caribbeans, while NOLA has the Caribbean feel with almost as many latin americans as Miami probably, IMHO).
Good food.
"Different" compared to the rest of the south.
Both get hurricanes and are on water.
The list goes on.

I thought about moving to both these places and still have trouble deciding.

Miami has....
-better weather
-cleaner
-more modern, better infrastructure
-beautiful beaches
-very international
-better access to the east coast, Caribbean, and South America

NOLA has...
-much nicer, friendlier people who speak English
-more interesting, unique, and rich culture and history
-better food imo
-better architecture
-very compact and walkable
-MARDI GRAS!!!!!!!

still can't decide....

New Orleans.
Got family there but could never live in MIA regardless.
Miamis got better location to go visit family in the islands but I barely visit anyway so not enough to make me wanna live there. Visiting every other year or so in the summer is enough.
And if I wanted to be on the beach everyday I'd rather stay in CA.

Miami! it has less crime problem and has more to offer sports wise. Also not far away from other major cities like New Orleans is. Its warmer! and more importantly, it is not below sea level! New orleans I think is the more interesting city all around but for living, Miami!

Louisiana and Florida are both great states, but if I lived in Florida, I would rather live in northern Florida or a city like Tallahassee that maintains some Southern charm. I have no desire to live in Miami, as it is essentially "New" Havana and looks like the third world. If I desire to be bombarded with Spanish, I'll move to Central or South America.

So, I would pick New Orleans easily, even though I would rather not live in a big city in general.

Miami fairly easily. It's a wonderfully diverse place with a lot of amenities. New Orleans is great for visits, but Miami seems to be a better place to live in.
