Earlier today I was having a conversation with a buddy about what cities in the U.S. have the most 'tourist attractions'. I'm not JUST talking about theme parks, beaches, parks but theatres, museums, arts, music, etc. as well
Here's the scenario...
You live in "X City" and you have relatives coming. They've already stressed that they do NOT just want to sit around doing nothing on their vacation so it's up to you to plan a week to 10 days of events. So you're basically going to show them what all your city has to offer.
What city would you "live in" and what would you have them do in your city? (Can be Hypothetical, and not the city you do live in)
PS-This is my first post on this forum so hopefully this post goes through alright
Los Angeles, New York City, & Orlando all stand out to me the most.
Agree though not Orlando [too much one-sided w/ theme pks, not close to beaches & no real museums\ cultural opportunities].
San Francisco should be included though good beaches are quite a ways [Santa Cruz]. Philadelphia to a degree but also quite a way from beaches [New Jersey]. Chicago should be included & perhaps Miami & Seattle. Maybe Houston but beaches are not close either. Honolulu maybe.

Yeah it is sort of one-sided with the theme parks. I agree with you on the other cities too.
New York is definitely first. Los Angeles and San Francisco come right after I think. Is there enough to keep a tourist occupied for 10 days in Seattle? Miami? DC (maybe if they were really interested in the U.S. government and history)? Chicago? Miami? Boston? I'm not positive on these places.

I've been a tourist for a week in DC and still didn't see everything. So for DC, yes there is. Honestly, I think you might even be able to make an argument for it being above New York or LA. There's just so much to see in DC.

There's a lot more attractions in NY than LA...
