The antenna doesn't count on the One Shell Plaza, because it is not a spire.

Hmmmm, Maryland doesn't have any real tall buildings outside of Baltimore at all! If DC were counted it would be the Washington Monument.

The Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln (affectionately known as the "Penis of the Plains") . It's the 3rd tallest in the state after One First National Center and the Woodmen Tower in downtown Omaha.

The Prudential in Boston was at one point the tallest building in the world outside of NYC.
New York and Rhode Island are the only two states to have a pre-WWII building as their tallest.

The Williams Tower, formerly the Transco Tower (901ft and 64 stories), about 10 miles outside of downtown Houston outside the 610 loop. Built back in 1983 it's still a beautiful structure with a nice fountain at it's base.

I thought Carew Tower in Cincinnati was taller than Rhodes Tower in Columbus? Anyway, the new tallest outside the city with the tallest in Ohio (Cleveland) will be Great American Tower at Queen City Square in Cincinnati.
