Do people really go boating when it's below freezing out? I wouldn't.
Considering that water freezes when the temp dips below freezing, no.
But, people do go ice fishing and skating on those Minneapolis lakes. Something really really weird about sitting in a boat and reeling in a walleye within a City of 390,000 people and 3 miles from downtown central business district.
Seattle is also a great boating city! You've got Lake Union, Lake Washington, and there's also Elliot Bay. Especially in the summer, it's pretty obvious that boating in Seattle is a pretty big thing. I don't know how it exactly compares to Minneapolis though.
I was thinking the same exact cities. If anyone has ever seen a detailed map of the Dade and Broward Counties area, they will know how many waterfront properties there are.
In Florida, I would imagine the Tampa area also has alot of boats.
If I owned a large boat I would want to be in key west or Hawaii. there are tons of great cities with great boating culture but with crappy weather to go with it like Seattle or Boston. If I had a large boat I would want to use it year round.
