I think Hong Kong's skyline is higher and more extensive than that of New York.

tokyo is very provincial compared to new york and london, it has nowhere near the global influence, only the gdp.

Established what? How is tokyo on nycs level overall? Hong kong having aetter skyline is questionable besides that has nothing to do with the city itself

By global influence, what do you mean? Pop culture?

Tokyo has huge global influence in the business relm. Easily as much as New York and probably more than London. Sony, Toyota, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, etc. Plus the Nikkei stock exchange is one of the big three exchanges in the world.

Population is greater than New York and London and has just as many amenities.

First of all, I don't care about skylines. They're pretty but they do nothing for quality of life.

Second of all, go back a few pages. We already had a discussion about how New York, London, and Tokyo were all in the same league.

no you are wrong.
political, economic, military, cultural, academic, diverse population, international headquarters, etc.

" Japanese society is linguistically and culturally homogeneous with small populations of foreign workers."

There are only 140k expatriates from the west in the entire country. There are only a combined 30k people from the u.s., british, french in the tokyo metro of 35 Million.

This is what I mean when I say Tokyo is VERY provincial compared to new york and london.

In just new york city there are 700K people from JUST china.

almost 40% of new york city wasn't even born in the united states...

see the difference?

japans military can not even be deployed abroad any more per their new government after WWII... japan is not a major military player, they have no nuclear weapons, etc. etc.

I could go on but sorry it is not on the level of nyc and london
