Alaska. I've been wanting to go there for ever because of its natural beauty.
That's usually not like me.

No comparison. However, Alaska has a natural advanatage in being about 4X the land area. While California has some fanstastic scenic areas, including the coast, Alaska has so many areas that are not commonly known. Add 'em all up, however, and AK wins hands down. If the poll was "what states have you seen more natural beauty?", then CA challenges due to pure population. Beyond that mortal argument, AK is the easy winner.

Alaska. California is beautiful but Alaska is beautiful AND truly special (as is most of Canada, or Iceland for instance). Nature seems infinite there.

Alaska is no doubt gorgeous but I voted California. Why you ask? Because you can pretty much enjoy California's beauty 365 days a year. On the other hand, some of the most beautiful parts in Alaska aren't even accessible without a plane or a boat. Oh and the winters are quite rough.

Pictures are one thing, but actually being there in person is another.

Haha, Alaska has much higher mountains and millions more lakes than California. It's slick of you to show small pics of Alaska with larger pics of California.

California has been duplicating other states for years. It's called the movie/tv industry! But that's all it is...duplication.
