People seem to think that suburbs are the same all across the country, and while ther are more similarities than differences between them, I have been to different parts of the country, and know that all burbs are not created equal. This is a list of what cities I feel have the best (close-in)burbs.

In this orderr

D.C.
Boston
NYC
Chicago
Philly
Detroit
LA
SF
Seattle

I left out the sunbelt cities because they seem to have a different definition of what is urban and suburban, While there are some nice burbs in sunbelt cities, they are a little too spread out for my liking.

I think the sunbelt suburbs are the same: chain restaurants, strip malls, sprawl etc.

not all burbs are the same. not even in the sunbelt. Idk why people think all suburbs are boring, bland wastelands. some suburbs have a lot to offer. They are like cities for cars. everyone is spread out and has there own personal space yet they have amenities of cities. They are part of the American dream. When most people outside the country think of the US they think of suburbia. It part of what makes us unique. Idk why so many people on here hate them so much.

I PREFER inner-ring suburbs to many cities, especially Chicago, NYC, Detroit, etc. It's a good mix of density, location and privacy.
