That would be amazing given that the US isn't even the wealthest nation in the world today.

The economy will be far deeper in the toilet than it is now if NYC and CA disappeared and would take decades to recover.

American produce prices would go sky-high and people would have to do with less. America's diet would become more of meat and potatoes. Nuts like pistachios would be so expensive and need to be imported from the Middle East just like oil. People would be less healthy without the abundance of food grown in California. And it is not just a matter of producing these crops elsewhere because the California climate can not be replicated. Wine would be very expensive and sub-standard. The cost of olives\olive oil, dates, rice, figs, artichokes, almonds, pit fruits, strawberries. walnuts, lettuce, carrots, raisins, onions, garlic, dozens more vegetables would prevent many people from buying these foods. Ice cream and milk prices would soar. Chickens and beef, fish would be too expensive to eat as we do now. Even clothing would be more expensive since California is the major cotton producer.

Culture would take a tremendous hit and the U.S. would be a distant second to European music, movies, technology. In-fact without New York & California the U.S. would not be a world power as it is today.

Yeah the US could make it. It's a huge country. There's plenty more than just california and nyc, even though those 2 places are some of the most important and most populated.
So, yeah the US could definantley make it, but it wouldnt be as good. It would still be pretty good though, just not as good

NYC and CA are only PART of the reason why the US is successful today. Stop blowing your head up; NYC and CA are very important, but so are many other states.

I wonder how many of the people who voted "no" are from California or NYC. And out of the few people who voted "no" that aren't from NYC or California, I wonder how many of them are from the East or West Coast..

I wonder how many of the people who votes "yes" are from flyover regions?

So NYC and California have over 150 million people?

If you guys don't even come here then we're obviously doing just fine without you already.

It's too bad the PRESIDENT is a Midwesterner though... Seems pretty important, the president.
