The original Hollywood sign read "Hollywoodland".

Good list but a few other top ones to add
The dollar and the U.S. President, probably both would be right after the Stars and Stripes
then not sure order but New York City skyline, NFL/American Football, Simpsons, Superman, The Capitol Building, MTV Logo

But to answer your question, I would say neither.

Free masons funded America and still run it. Have you ever seen a dollar bill?

Uhm what kind of comparison is that?

Okay, The Statue of Liberty is a sign for politics, alliance, and friendship.

It was given to us by the French after our independence, and it was a gift, and that extended our arms to our FIRST foreign support/friend (France). It was a gesture of goodwill, and it's a centerpiece for tourism. It's considered a "New 7 wonder of the World", and it's there to remind us of all our struggles and hard work to become a united country.

The Hollywood sign is a cultural sign, everyone across the world recognizes it as the sign that shows a powerful film industry, and American Culture contributed and projected by the film industry.

They're two different types of symbols, but the Statue of Liberty, hands down holds more importance.
