Forgive me, but you've not offered up a particularly persuasive argument here. For one, you stated that "many" areas of LA look like NY, but have been able to proffer only a single example--downtown. Aren't there others?
And secondly, it appears that you selected "downtown LA" simply because it has tall buildings, and NYC has tall buildings. But the two don't really look like each other--I doubt anyone would be confused by comparing images of them. So, I can only surmise that there must be some other aspects of downtown LA that reminds you of NYC. So...what are they?
I don't care what you do or don't find persuasive about what I said. I've said what I had to say.

That's unfortunate, as I (and, I'm certain, others) was quite interested in learning about the aesthetic similarities between LA and NYC. It's a pity that you're either unable or unwilling to support your own claims.

LA still owns.
This seems a spurious assertion to make, considering your rather limp-wristed defense of your arguments in this thread.
shouldn't America's most cosmopolitan city have at least an NFL team.....just sayin.
but your right LA is definately America's most cosmopolitan city...... for illegals. heard a fact today, Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal aliens on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers
I didn’t vote in the poll because I think it begins with a false premise. Namely, that LA is the most cosmopolitan city in the United States. It would seem to me that given the standard definition of cosmopolitan, New York is the only real choice for number one. Given New York’s ethnic diversity, integration of those ethnic groups, and its role as the preeminent global city, it’s hard to compare it to any city in the world other than London. LA is certainly a very cosmopolitan city, perhaps (or not) on a par with Toronto and Montreal among North American cities.
