The newly built City Centre is a great place to go if you want a quieter option for fine dining and shopping over the Galleria.
Houston Zoo is amazing don't forget to check them out, the animals love seeing new faces, remember to visit them!
Check out Sugar Land! You'll have fun in that suburban city!
San Antonio: You want to do shopping the river center has a great list of options to shop from, you'll see stores to fit all kinds of needs. Some of the best tex-mex food I've ever had are in San Antonio at the river walk, try Rita's on the river, you'll be entertained by the guitarists and entertainers, they're hilarious!
Walk around the river walk and take their tour ride on the boat, it'll explain San Antonio's history and significance.

You want to go shopping at a bit more upscale location go to La Cantarra in Northwest San Antonio, very upscale shopping there, and be SURE to go see a movie at the Pallodium! You'll LOVE it!

You can always go to Six Flags Over Texas!
You'll love the ethnic restaurants here as well, there's so many to those from!
You're not really adding much to the topic.
All three are great in cost of living. I think Houston and Dallas has more to offer so there cost of living maybe a bit higher. San Antonio has the better downtown but Houston and Dallas being a metro of 6 million and more have more amenities.

San Antonio has pretty much everything Dallas and Houston offer. Other than MLB and NFL. San Antonio does however have AHL, WNBA and minor league baseball team.
