Which would you choose to spend a weekend visiting; mostly on things to do.

I know this list is nowhere near exhaustive and please feel free to add some others.

Interested also in capturing a list of some new weekend destinations

Buckhead is less of a "spend a weekend seeing stuff" destination and more of a "spend a day going shopping" destination. The nightlife in the district has changed dramatically in the last few years and shifted to other areas in town (though there are still several places to go), but the dining scene is quite good. Other than that it is primarily a residential section of the city.

For ATL, Midtown/Downtown or the East Side would be the more comprehensive section of the city to see for a weekend trip.
