I know from where I am in St. Louis and a lot of people I ran into, opinions of NYC are largely indifference. Most of the feelings that would normally be directed there tend to manifest themselves in relation to Chicago. I think part of it is people here don't interact much with New Yorkers that often either here, there, or somewhere else.

Yea, Chicago is better then NY.

1.NYC is TOO expensive
2.NYC is too grimy
3.NYC has short grimy skyline
4.NYC has ugly beaches
5.NYC is RUDE
6.NYC has ugly architecture
7. other then that it's an ok city

Why Chicago is better
1.Chicago is the best bang for the buck city
2.Chicago has America's tallest skyline
3.Chicago has beautiful beaches
4.Chicago has beautiful archetecture
5.Chicago ppl are nice
6.Chicago is also a big crowded busy and dense city like NYC, only difference is that Chicago is better! Chicago is a NYC UPGRADE!

I disagree. I think people do give credit to other cities over NY where credit is due. For example, Miami has better beaches, San Francisco is more naturally scenic, DC is more politically powerful, LA has a greater film industry, etc.

hella proud. It's everything we are as a nation. Best city on the planet in my opinion. Everyone's welcome in New York.
