lol at me not including Miami... the others are more or less represented by the other three options but... lol. this poll is useless w/o Miami.
the "Other" option is officially now the Miami option lol
Let it be said though that Miami's Caribbean/Cuban culture is quite different from Mexican/Chicano culture. I know that there are some people who think that everyone who speaks Spanish eats tacos and whatnot but Spanish speaking cultures are quite diverse.
i disagree. a walk through jackson heights, washington heights, east harlem, etc. says otherwise.
Just neighborhoods with different Latinos. WOW, Miami-Dade has the same thing, but with cities. Little Havana, Little Managua, Little Buenos Aires, Little San Juan etc, etc.
LA by a long shot. Texas has a lot of barrios particularly in the border area, but when you get near the major cities it feels much more 'tex-mex,. Miami is probably right on LA's coat tail as far as authenticity.
Its just hard for me to get the authentic barrio feel f in places back east when there is snow on the ground and everyone is living in brick 3 flats that were once occupied by a different ethnic group less than 70 years ago.
Compare that to East LoS which has been a barrio since back when -LA was considerd to have good public transit , Shirley temple had not hit puberty, and hitler was just a nobody artist.
