NYC-Philadelphia-Newark-Allentown-Wilmington-Stamford-Camden-Reading-Atlantic City NY-PA-NJ-CT-DE-MD CMSA?
I was reading on the Philadelphia board about the possibility of NY and Philadelphia actually being joined as one CSA in the upcoming Census.
There has been discussion on here about the movement of Trenton and Mercer county from the Philadelphia MSA to the NY CSA in the last Census. But there is actually a chance that due to commuter patterns of Bucks county to Mercer county and Philadelphia to Bucks county that these two major cities may actually qualify (on the basis of commuter ties) into one CSA.

What would your thought be on this?
Is this a possibility?
If this happens the rest of the country will be left in the dust. My initial thoughts on this is that the BosWash corridor is heading into becoming one combined region, it's visible.
And the distance between Baltimore and Philadelphia is nearly twice the distance as the crow flies when compared to NYC and Philadelphia (only 46 miles between the nearest city borders)

I know but the poster added NY-PA-NJ-CT-DE-MD but forgot D.C.
Or maybe he thinks D.C. is apart Maryland

I believe the OP is speaking of the NY and Philly metros. The New York Metro includes New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, while the Philly metro includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland (Cecil county) and Delaware (New Castle County). Baltimore and Washington are not even apart of this discussion.

That has to be very unpleasant for those living in Philadelphia when people jokingly/accidentally refer to it as NYC's 6th borough.
