As far as I know, DT was never a nightlife hotspot. Its role is now more touristy in nature outside of the typical uses.
Atlanta's DT was never really hot but there were some bars, clubs, and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the underground mall that were pretty fun to visit as an outsider. They also had stores around five points (some sucked but at least it was there). When I last visited it looked like a ghost town in the middle of a weekday during the ACC tournament with the exception of a few sketchy characters trying to sell me some weed. I also saw a significant increase of boarded up buildings compared 4/5 years ago.
Heres my list in order. 50- BORING, 1-FUN
50 San Bernardio
49 BirmingHam ... cut ...
12 San Antonio
11 Washington
10 Boston
9 Seattle
8 Dallas
7 LA
6 Miami
5 San Fransisco
4 Las Vegas
3 Phily
2 Chicago
1 New York
(I haven't read all the replies, so forgive me if I'm repeating what's already been said.) I'm just impressed that someone could have an opinion about so many cities. Seriously. Regardless of criteria, "right" and "wrong" position in the rankings, 50's a big number. I could probably make an informed decision for 20, 25 tops. I'd also spell "Philly" correctly
I currently live in Miami Beach and I'm curious to see what's out there and travel for a bit. I have family in Denver so that always seems to be an option but coming from Miami I'm afraid of being bored out there...!! Am I off on this? I have visited and have always enjoyed "outdoorsey" stuff like hiking and rock climbing but it scares me that things shut down at 2 am. Does the mountain lifestyle seem to make up for this?
Thanks!!
These "boring city" threads (yes, there are more than one) are dumb. Even places that don't have an image for being the most exciting place in the world has SOME THINGS to offer.
There's no such thing as boring cities... just boring people.
