I have just put my beautiful passive solar adobe home on the market. I live a little north of Santa Fe (15 min.).... my mailing address is Santa Fe.
It is 4BR/2Bath on 0.8 acre at the end of a quiet lane... Great location and very quiet.
Big slate-floor foyer with 16 ft wide sliding entry door opens to a large open room with living room and kitchen.
All the rooms facing south have big 8 ft wide sliding glass doors that heat the house during the winter... I augment heat at night with a free-standing natural gas stove in the living room and a small electric-filled radiator in my bedroom.
It has vigas throughout and brick floors, except carpeting in the master bedroom and tile with radiant heat in the master bath... great linear design oriented east west. I am re-stuccoing now ... the Brai roof is 3 yrs old, with a 10 yr warranty... but it will last much longer.
I built a big redwood deck (10 x 20 ft) with an even bigger pergola that makes for great summertime living... the Virginia creeper is halfway along the pergola now which makes for nice shade... plus I have some sunshades. There are big trees on the property and a big field (1/4 acre) adjacent to the acequia (irrigation) ditch and it comes with water rights.
There are views of the Sangre di Cristo mtns to the east and of the beautiful La Mesita to the north, plus Jemez Mtns can be seen from the east end of the property.
Landscaped around the house and to the west side of the property, with beautiful Russian olive trees next to a fountain and sitting area on the south side of the house. There is an inground pool that just needs a new liner to be functioning again... that was on track for next year.
It is a wonderful home that I love very much... but am planning a move down to Mexico which is why I'm selling it.
Asking $329,000 and would like to sell quickly if possible... I'm ready to move! Will consider lease/option.
