I'm 23 years old and I just became a certified school psychologist. Unfortunately, the job market on Long Island and in NYC is absolutely awful for school psychologists and anyone in the education field with little to no experience and so I've been looking in other (warmer
states. I'm very tired of NY winters so I don't mind moving.
Anyway, I had an interview with Burke County School District/Morganton NC. I noticed the town of Morganton is near Charlotte but not as close as I was hoping. So my question is, does anyone know of a small city or hopping town half way between morganton and Charlotte. I want to be within commuting distance of Morganton obviously but also a 30-40 minute drive to Charlotte. I want it to be a safe area of course but with things to do (bars, shops, etc).
Also does anyone know anything about the job outlook for personal trainers in Morganton/Charlotte area? My boyfriend is a personal trainer and hopes to move with me and do that full time (which is difficult even on LI where there are millions of gyms)
Any advice is appreciated...I've never even been to North Carolina, but from what Ive seen in movies, tv shows and books it looks like a great place to live.
