I'm currently planning on moving out of Southern California.
We currently live in a mobile home in a nice park in Corona, CA (Temescal Valley area). If anyone is looking to move to this area and needs an affordable house please let me know. Almost all houses in Corona (even small crappy ones) are no less then $400,000. Our mobile home is going to be sold around $95,000. The house is 1344 sq. ft. with a very large driveway and 10X10 shed. Shed is built like a house (not a metal shed), has A/C, power, phone, lights, drywall, etc. The house is 3 bedroom, 2 bath, living room, dining area, and kitchen. Also a small room that used to be a laundry room can be used for a small office or sewing/craft room. The laundry room is relocated to the master bathroom. The living room/dining/kitchen has wood flooring and the whole house has been freshly painted recently. The rent for the land is around $600/month. So if you have a $95,000 mortgage minus 10% down ($9500) brings your total to $85500 for 30 years at 8% interest rate is $627/month. So $627 + $600 for rent = $1227/month which is cheaper then any standard house you will find around here. Property taxes are around $1700/year. Lots of shopping is nearby : Dos Lagos, The Crossings at Corona, and Eagle Glen Shopping Center.
www.mycitycorona.com will show what stores are in these centers.
