Hi All,

I am planning to relocate to Ohio from North Carolina as I got a job at Smuckers.

Are there any fellow asian / indians working with smuckers?

I have a family and I want my family to stay with fellow asians/indians in Cleveland/Akron/Canton.

Can you folks please let me know the areas in these cities where asians/indians live.

Cleveland Metro has a pretty decent number of Indians:

Also, I think places like Parma, North Olmstead, Solon, and recently Cleveland Hts have large Indian populations (plus I'm guessing even more suburbs)

Living in Cleveland will mean at a minimum a 45-minute to hour commute to Orrville and the Smucker's location. Stick to Akron & Canton areas which will typically be 25-35 minute commutes depending on where you are.

As for Asian/Indians, can't say that I ever knew of any significant populations in any of the 3 cities, however, I'd have to imagine there is at least a small community somewhere when you consider Akron & Canton MSAs combine for > 1 million people.

There is a huge Indian community in Northeast Ohio, so rest assured. Your job is probably in Orrville, so you will want to focus on the Akron/Canton suburbs for a shorter commute. You will find desis living in Bath, Stow, North Canton...and a bit further north, Richfield, Brecksville, Broadview Heights. The latter two have large Indian population, excellent schools, and closer to the "center of gravity" (temples, cultural events, etc.) All depends on how far you want to be from work.

Beachwood has a large Asian population (relatively). I believe Solon does as well. Both school districts are good.
