Lisa, how did you apply? Do you already have an address in the Cleveland area? We still have not bought or rented a house but most likely will by the first of May.

Default Great Schools in Shaker

This is in response to MountainLovers comment that the schools are "rough."
I am a graduate of the schools and have three kids in the schools now. I have experience with two different elementary schools, the upper elementary school (woodbury), the middle school and my mother has worked in the high school for 30 years.

The schools are not rough. What do you even mean by that? In our experience, the schools are among the most nuturing, caring schools you could ever hope for. They are embraced by this entire community. Parents, students, teachers, adminstrators are invested in the quality of the schools and dedicated to offering amazing opportunities and support to children from all backgrounds. The students themselves are interesting, engaging and engaged, and generally incredibly polite, kind, curious and bright.

We could have lived in any number of communities or opted for one of the many private schools in our area. We chose Shaker and couldn't be happier with the quality of the schools, the students and the faculty.
