I'm very excited for this project, I've always thought University Circle was a great neighborhood. I'm even impressed with the Cleveland.com article and how it's avoided the wrath of the usual negative overcritical posters.

This whole block is really coming together. MOCA is looking better everyday, and the momentum from these projects is moving off of Euclid now too. Case's new student center, new condo/apartment projects, new hotels, etc. It's all fitting together nicely.

The Shaker Rapid (Green Line) stops at Coventry, but in Shaker Heights, nowhere near the Coventry district in Cleveland Heights. To get there from the University Circle (Red Line) stop, take the eastbound #32, #7, or #9 bus. Go to riderta.com for more info.

I know I'm off the subject, but I had dinner with one of my homegirls at Sergio's in University Circle. First of all, there are so many NICE restaurants over there, but we got lost! It's been a while since I've actually drove around to look at EVERYTHING (including MOCA and Uptown)... It is the bomb in University Circle. There were so many people just out and about walking around. The atmosphere was so diverse, eclectic and full of culture. Even the VA Hospital looks fabulous! So much is going on

There are a couple new restaurants that signed up in the Uptown project that sound really cool.

Here's the most recent article:

Sasa's Scott Kim to open pan-Asian Accent restaurant in University Circle's Uptown project | cleveland.com

"That will come in the spring, when Accent is expected to open in the Uptown project in University Circle. He'll join Jonathon Sawyer (Greenhouse Tavern, Noodlecat), who is toying with an Italian-inspired menu at another space in the project. ABC the Tavern, a popular spot on West 25th Street in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood, has agreed to open a second location there. And Constantino's Market, Panera Bread, Chipotle and Jimmy John's have all signed on, too."

It would be nice to get the RTA Little Italy Station up and running. Would be a lot closer to Little Italy and UH.

Last I heard is no secured funding for a new Little Italy station (plus I think the local old-timers were fighting its construction the entire time). BUT the new University Circle-Cedar rapid station will probably start construction soon since it has all the needed funding.

The one I always use for Little Italy is the E.120-Euclid Ave stop. I walk right up Coltman Rd to the main drag of Mayfield Rd.

Wow, more restaurants than I thought. Good stuff, nice variety.
