Personally the eastern half of Ohio feels like the north east to me. Rural and urban it seems to have more in common with NY and PA than Indiana and beyond.

Cleveland is in the midwest, as is the entire state of Ohio. I feel more east in the state of Michigan than I do in Ohio. Cleveland just has a lot of coast like most large eastern cities as opposed to midwest cities your, excluding Chicago and Milwaukee. Though the state of Michigan has tons of coast than any eastern state and most if not all states in the USA, but do not have a large city that reside near it.

Being that I'm from the east, anywhere west of western PA is considered midwest to me. Ohio isn't the most midwest as you can get, but Cleveland does kind of have the midwestern feel to it, IMHO. Ohio is also considered a midwestern state, so I guess that's the official classification of Cleveland. I think that Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin should have their own region called Great Lakes, since midwest can be a broad term...
