I posted in a thread in the Ohio thread as well, so excuse me but I had a general question:
I'm looking at a place on Cheshire near Larchmere Blvd. in Shaker and was just wondering if its a safe area? I know Shaker in general is very nice, but have heard some places closer to Cleveland may be rough. Also, how is this area in comparison to Cleveland Heights near Noble Rd?

Would the area around Daleford be nicer?

I don't see the market appreciating very much in 5 years nationally, and especially not in Cleveland, an already cheap and stable market. Maybe 5%-10%, but that's really stretching and if you're not able to live somewhere without ensuring you can make a buck on your "investment", you're probably not ready for homeownership. Sorry, I just see too many people putting a ton of money into homes because they think they are investment vehicles and they really aren't. Over the past 100 years, homes appreciate closer to the rate of inflation -- that's it.

Default Streets in Shaker School District

Kendall, Chesire, Northwood, part of Fairhill, part of Larchmere, Kemper and North Moreland are all in the Shaker Heights and Shaker school district. The named streets in that neighborhood are Shaker, the numbered streets are Cleveland.

South Moreland, south side of Larchemere, Shaker Boulevard west of Coventry, Ardoon, Haddam and Cormere are in the City of Cleveland but feed into Shaker Schools.

You may be able to find a map on shaker.org which is the Shaker Schools website that will show you the streets feedding into Shaker schools (though it doesn't delineate which are in Cleveland).
