Hey guys!

I've decided that I'd like to live around Downtown/LittleItaly/ and Shaker Heights! Since I'm still looking afar (from NYC), it seems pretty hard to find a place to live in..

I'm like a studio/1bd-room apartment
roach-free (haha)
garage parking..

I was looking at Statler Arms and some other ones around the area - seemed great but.. review of people tell me that parking isn't in the same building, there are roaches, or bad management/elevators. ; (

Does anyone have any recommendations!?

TY

You might really like the apartments around Shaker Square. The area is full of people of all ages including many who are affiliated with Case and the Clinic. There are lots of great restaurants, independent shops and Dewey's Coffee Shop which is always filled with interesting people, some working, some socializing, some just hanging out drinking coffee and reading. It is a really vibrant neighborhood. The website shakeronline.com has a listing of Certified Shaker apartments (many of which are in the Shaker Square neighborhood) that are inspected for quality by the City of Shaker Heights, so that is a good place to start your search. Hope that helps.

Shaker Square is nice but you don't want to walk too far or else...uh oh.

Little Italy is Cleveland's only legitimate walkable neighborhood where you're safe 24/7. I can't imagine anyone saying otherwise.

Hello and welcome to Cleveland!

Little Italy is amazing... You'd be in the absolute perfect location. There's so much education, eclecticism, culture and life over there. And the food, OMG!!!!!!!!!!! Plus, you wouldn't be far from tons of fabulous restaurants, downtown Cleveland, University Circle, Tremont, Ohio City, Beachwood, and SO MUCH MORE. There are so many new & huge initiatives / developments happening all throughout Cleveland right now. You'd be right in the heart of it all. Now, is the time to jump on it. In the next few years, it will sky rocket. It's fabulous over there! I hope you love Cleveland as much as we all do...

PS
Shaker Heights is fantastic; however, based on your needs, Little Italy is the way to go!

I've lived in Little Italy for the past couple of years and I love it! However, I must warn that parking can be an issue, depending on what street you live on. As a native Clevelander, Little Italy is the only neighborhood in the city I would consider living in. Good luck with your transition to Cleveland. Something to make it easier, don't expect Cleveland to be anything like NYC.

Default Enjoy Our Great City!

No place is like NYC. As an example, Chicago has a big city feeling to it, but is still nothing like NYC. Every place has it's own personality. Cleveland has it's own flavor just as well... Enjoy our great city!
