Or maybe just change our mascot from a Native American to an Indian person (from India). Actually in all seriousness, Native Americans do call themselves Indians, so it is correct, even if it's not politically correct.

I refuse to call American Indians "Native Americans". No one is "native" to the Americas, even Amer. Indians came from Asia!

Sure, as soon as they change the name of the Yankees to the Northern Americans.

And I refuse to use the term African American either.

Dave Schoenfield @ espn.com wrote an article about Chief Wahoo this week. He feels the moniker has to go, and I completely agree. The team name and Chief Wahoo are incredibly insensitive and outright racist. If the Chief Wahoo moniker is absent in all capacities at the team's spring facility in Goodyear, Arizona due to fears of backlash by the indigenous community of the southwest United States, why not remove the caricature from the club's identity completely?

If they remove the Indians name they have to change the Redskins and the Braves too. At least our caricature portrays Indians in a positive stereotype, instead of the negative one of violent tomahawk wielding natives.
