I am coming up for appointments for my son at the Cleveland Clinic. I will be staying at the Residence Inn on Prospect ave by Progressive Field.
I like to visit the local "legend" type restaurants when visiting a new city.
Any suggestions with walking distance of the Residence Inn or the Cleveland clinic.
Thanks

Cleveland is very much a "foodie city"...known mostly for Pierogies, Corned Beef sandwiches, Great Lakes Beer, local Stadium mustard on hot dogs, and local italian stuff; Cavatelli and meatballs, Cassatta Cake

Walking distance from the hotel:
- Lola (Iron Chef Michael Symon's place) Michael Symon's Lola Bistro
- E.4th Street: East Fourth Neighborhood: dining & entertainment - "Cleveland's Premiere Downtown Living Destination"

Walking distance from the Cleveland Clinic:
- L'ablatros (20 min walk) http://www.albatrosbrasserie.com/
- Little Italy neighborhood (20 min walk): Directory Little Italy Cleveland (http://www.littleitalycleveland.com/directory.html - broken link)

Also, you gotta check out Cleveland's Westside Market.

It's been a staple item for the city dating back to the 1800's. The current indoor market was built in 1912: The West Side Market: Cleveland's oldest publicly owned market

You can take the train from Downtown to W.25 on a Saturday.

Last recommendation!

Across the street from the Westside Market is the Great Lakes Brewery, if you're in the mood for some AMAZING microbrews:
